Among the most famous and appreciated Italian liqueurs, there is certainly brandy: obtained from Italian wine, which is subjected to distillation, brandy is a real ace in the hole for preparing a large number of tasty specialties, such as after all, it can be enjoyed pleasantly at the end of a dinner. Brandy is excellent for preparing special desserts, such as cakes or biscuits, or it can be used to give an extra touch of flavor to cheeses, or to meats and pasta dishes.

There are quite a few brandy-based preparations: it can in fact be used to prepare Christmas Pudding, or alternatively, also various types of cakes and biscuits, as well as first and second courses.

The name brandy comes from the Dutch term brandywijn, which literally means "fire-filled wine".
