The main variety of tomatoes used to prepare peeled tomatoes, which are nothing more than a particular form of preserve of these vegetables, is that of the famous San Marzano tomatoes.

Use in cooking

Peeled tomatoes are excellent for preparing a large number of different specialties, starting from the sauce with basil for the classic tomato pasta, up to - once pureed - another masterpiece of Italian cuisine, the margherita pizza.


After vacuum-packing them in a sterilized glass container, your peeled tomatoes can be stored for up to a year in a cool, dry and dark environment.


For the preparation of the famous and very useful peeled tomatoes, in general, it is usual to choose the San Marzano variety from Campania, which is characterized by being elongated.
