phyllo dough

Phyllo dough is a specialty originating from the Middle East and, in particular, its origin is to be found in Turkey: in this country between East and West, this dough is mainly used to prepare excellent and appetizing sweets. Obtained from a dough that is made up of 60 percent flour and 40 percent water, phyllo pastry is also ideal for preparing rolls with different fillings. Phyllo dough is suitable for cooking in many different ways: it can in fact be used for cooking in the oven or even for frying.

Use in cooking

Phyllo pastry can be used for the preparation of second courses based on fish or meat, as well as being used in the kitchen to make tasty aperitifs and even desserts, the latter especially belonging to the oriental tradition.

Preservation

You can store the phyllo dough in the refrigerator for about a week, or alternatively, you can also freeze it.

In particular, phyllo pastry is very well known and widespread, especially in the Middle East, where it is used to prepare many types of desserts.
