Basmati rice

One of the most pleasant and fascinating Asian specialties is without a doubt Basmati rice, whose origin is to be found mainly in India and Pakistan, where there are different varieties and hybrids of the same, for several dozen different varieties of this extraordinary fragrant rice. This special variety of rice, to give the best results, must be rinsed before use, to ensure that the starch present on the surface of the grains is carefully removed: secondly, then, the cooking of this rice must take place following some precautions, such as, for example, preventing it from increasing in volume and becoming excessively overcooked.

Among the various qualities of rice, Basmati is without a doubt ideal for preparing Asian dishes in which the rice must not compact.

Preservation

Basmati rice must be stored in an airtight container, which in turn must be placed in a dark, dry cupboard.

Curiosity

The term basmati, referring to the variety of rice of the same name, has a meaning that is more or less similar to "ruler of fragrance".
