With their bright colour, which is often yellow, red, green or even orange, peppers are ideal for the preparation of a large number of dishes, starting from salads, passing through first courses with pasta, without forgetting the second courses with meat and fish. Peppers are very low in calories and, on the other hand, they are real concentrates of vitamins, even to a greater extent than many citrus fruits, although this peculiarity is not often made known.

Use in cooking

Peppers of all varieties can be used in many different ways in the kitchen: to prepare tasty and colorful summer salads, or even cooked in a pan or in the oven, as well as grilled.


Although peppers can be stored in the refrigerator for a relatively short time, they can be dried, or placed in jars in oil or vinegar.


Not all peppers are the same: the spicier ones, for example, bring a large quantity of vitamins and stimulate blood circulation.
