The beauty of homemade pizza lies in its versatility—you can put virtually anything on it! Popular toppings include classic ingredients like tomato sauce, mozzarella cheese, pepperoni, mushrooms, onions, bell peppers, olives, and sausage. However, feel free to get creative and experiment with unconventional toppings like grilled chicken, artichoke hearts, sun-dried tomatoes, arugula, or even pineapple for a sweet and savory twist. The possibilities are endless, so don't be afraid to let your imagination run wild.

What do you sprinkle on pizza dough?

Before adding toppings, it's essential to sprinkle pizza dough with a few key ingredients to enhance its flavor and texture. Start by brushing the dough with a thin layer of olive oil, which helps create a crisp crust and adds richness to the finished product. Next, sprinkle the dough with a pinch of salt and a generous dusting of cornmeal or semolina flour, which prevents it from sticking to the baking surface and adds a satisfying crunch. Finally, for an extra burst of flavor, consider sprinkling the dough with dried herbs like oregano, basil, or thyme, or freshly grated Parmesan cheese.
