When you think of Molise, the first product that comes to mind is the truffle. You must know, in fact, that Molise is in first place for truffle production in Europe. An exceptional record! Other typical Molise products include meats, in particular wild boar, lamb and kid, ducks, and sausages. In Molise we also find the use of polenta, coming right from northern Italy. Calabrian 'inspiration' is instead the use of 'barriti' small caciocavallo filled with cow's butter, scamorza and pecorino. Finally, let's not forget the desserts, such as sweet ravioli, cicerchia and many others.
