This Privacy Policy describes how MyItalian.Recipes collects, uses and protects the personal data of users visiting the site, in compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation (EU Regulation 2016/679 — GDPR).

Summary

MyItalian.Recipes is a recipe site browsable without registration. We do not request personal data to access content. We use technical cookies (necessary for operation), aggregated analytical cookies (Google Analytics) and third-party advertising cookies (Google AdSense, Microsoft Advertising, Facebook Pixel) to fund the site. Our conversational assistant Chef AI processes user queries anonymously to provide culinary suggestions. Users have the right to access, rectify or delete their data at any time by writing to info@myitalian.recipes.

Types of data collected

Browsing data

The IT systems and software procedures used to operate the site acquire, in the course of normal operation, certain data whose transmission is implicit in the use of Internet communication protocols: IP addresses, browser type, operating system, pages visited, access times, country of origin. This data is used solely to derive anonymous statistical information and is not associated with personal identifiers.

Voluntarily provided data

Sending emails to info@myitalian.recipes entails the subsequent acquisition of the sender's address, necessary to respond to requests, as well as any other personal data contained in the message. This data is processed exclusively to respond to the request and is not shared with third parties.

Third-party services used

Google Analytics

Web analysis service provided by Google Ireland Limited. Collects anonymous data on site usage (page views, time spent, device, approximate geolocation) to generate aggregated statistics. Data is transferred to the United States under the Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission. Privacy Policy — Opt-out.

Google AdSense

Google's advertising platform that displays contextual ads on the site. Uses cookies to personalise ads based on user interests. Manage preferences.

Google Tag Manager

Tag management system that orchestrates third-party cookies and scripts. Does not collect personal data on its own behalf.

Facebook Pixel

Tracking and remarketing service provided by Meta Platforms Ireland Limited. Allows measuring the effectiveness of advertising campaigns and showing personalised ads on Facebook and Instagram. Manage preferences.

Microsoft Advertising

Microsoft Corporation's advertising platform used for remarketing and contextual ads. Privacy Statement.

YouTube (embedded content)

Some recipes contain embedded YouTube videos provided by Google Ireland Limited. When a user starts a video, YouTube sets cookies on the browser. Privacy Policy.

Font Awesome

Icon library loaded from CDN. Does not collect personal identifying data.

Chef AI (conversational assistant)

The site uses a conversational AI assistant (Chef AI) that processes user queries to provide recipes and suggestions. Queries are not associated with personal identities and are not used for profiling. Conversational logs are kept anonymously for service improvement for a maximum of 90 days, after which they are deleted.

User rights

Under the GDPR, the user has the right to:

  • Access: obtain confirmation of the existence of personal data concerning them and, if so, receive a copy.
  • Rectification: request correction of inaccurate data or completion of incomplete data.
  • Erasure ("right to be forgotten"): request removal of their data when no longer necessary for the purposes collected.
  • Restriction: request suspension of processing.
  • Portability: receive their data in a structured, readable format.
  • Objection: object to processing on legitimate grounds.
  • Complaint: lodge a complaint with the Italian Data Protection Authority (garanteprivacy.it) or with the supervisory authority of their country of residence.

Data transfer outside the EU

Some third-party services used (Google Analytics, Google AdSense, Facebook Pixel, Microsoft Advertising) involve data transfer outside the European Economic Area, particularly to the United States. Such transfers are covered by the Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission (Decision 2021/914) and/or the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, ensuring an adequate level of protection.

Data retention

Anonymous browsing data is retained for the time strictly necessary for statistical purposes (maximum 26 months for Google Analytics). Emails received at info@myitalian.recipes are retained for the time necessary to handle the request and legitimate follow-ups (maximum 24 months). Chef AI conversational logs are kept anonymous for a maximum of 90 days.

Data Breach

In the event of a personal data breach that may pose a risk to user rights and freedoms, the controller will notify the Data Protection Authority within 72 hours of discovery, and inform affected users with appropriate communication, in accordance with Articles 33-34 of the GDPR.

Changes to this policy

This Privacy Policy may be modified at any time for regulatory compliance or due to evolution of site services. Users are invited to consult it periodically, taking as reference the date of last modification indicated at the bottom.
