Have you ever tried the Kinder chocolate sponge slice? A slice of this delicious fridge-cold cake is certainly the perfect snack for children - and also for adults with a sweet tooth. Well, now you can make this treat at home: a soft biscuit made with chocolate and a creamy filling straight from the fridge - irresistible, especially during summer when the heat becomes increasingly overwhelming. The Kinder sponge slice, once prepared, can easily be stored in the fridge for a few days and served as a snack or as breakfast for the children, perhaps accompanied by a nice glass of juice. This combination is absolutely perfect and you can be sure of having made a very traditional, tasty and refreshing snack.
Beat the egg yolks with 50 g of sugar, add the milk, honey and vanilla and continue beating with an electric mixer until the mixture is light and fluffy. Sift the flour with baking powder and cocoa, and add this too. Then beat the egg whites until stiff with the remaining 40g of sugar and incorporate gently. Roll out the dough on a baking sheet lined with baking parchment until it is about ½ cm thick. Bake the dough at 200 °C for about 8 minutes, immediately sprinkle with a little sugar and wrap it in foil while it is still hot. Allow it to cool. Meanwhile, prepare the creamy filling. Soak the gelatine in cold water for 10 minutes, squeeze out the water and melt in 50 ml of warm cream. Add to the condensed milk that you have placed in a bowl with the honey. Beat with the whisk for a few minutes. Whip the remaining cream and incorporate it gently into the mixture. Divide the cooked dough into two halves or, if you prefer, cut into rectangular slices. Spread the biscuit with the prepared creamy filling, cover with a second layer of biscuit dough and place in the refrigerator for at least an hour.
