Serve your baked cheesecake with fresh fruit

One of the most appreciated variations of fruit cheesecake is the one that uses a crunchy base made with biscuits and melted butter. This combination not only offers a perfect texture but also provides a rich and enveloping flavor. To prepare it, simply crush the biscuits and mix them with the melted butter, creating a base that will form the bottom of the cake. After pressing it well into the cake pan, you can proceed with the cream cheese, enriched with sugar, egg, flour, and milk. The fresh fruit, added at the end, completes the dish, offering a contrast of textures and flavors that makes the cheesecake even more appetizing.
The fruit cheesecake can be interpreted in various ways, and one of the most typical variations from Lombardy is the one that uses local ingredients. In this version, you can opt for Lombard fresh cheeses, such as ricotta, which add a delicate and creamy note to the dessert. The fruit used can vary depending on the season: apples, pears, or even cherries are perfect choices to evoke the flavors of the region. This preparation, besides being delicious, represents a great way to experiment with fresh and genuine ingredients, making the cheesecake a perfect dessert for any occasion.
For those who are mindful of their figure, the fruit cheesecake can be prepared in a light version, eliminating sugar and opting for healthier alternatives. By using Greek yogurt instead of cream cheese and natural sweeteners like honey or maple syrup, you achieve a cream that is just as tasty but with fewer calories. Additionally, it is possible to reduce the amount of butter in the biscuit base, replacing it with fruit puree or yogurt. This light variant not only maintains the fresh and fruity flavor but also allows you to enjoy a delicious dessert without guilt, perfect for those looking to maintain a balanced diet.
The fruit cheesecake offers several benefits thanks to the ingredients used. The cheese, rich in protein and calcium, contributes to bone health, while fresh fruit provides essential vitamins and antioxidants for our well-being. If we consider a portion of fruit cheesecake, it can contain about 250-350 calories, depending on the ingredients used. By choosing seasonal fruit, you can also obtain useful fiber for digestion. Preparing this cake with fresh and quality ingredients allows you to enjoy a dessert that is not only a pleasure for the palate but also an excellent source of nutrients.
Yes, it is possible to freeze fruit cheesecake, but there are some precautions to follow to maintain its consistency and flavor. Before freezing, it is advisable to let it cool completely and then wrap it well in plastic wrap or in an airtight container. This way, it avoids absorbing odors from the freezer. When you want to enjoy it, simply take it out of the freezer and let it thaw in the refrigerator for a few hours. However, it is important to note that the fresh fruit used as decoration may lose some of its crunchiness, so it is better to add it at the time of serving.
