Sugar is very important in the nutrition of both animals and humans and, especially in the form of sucrose, derives its origin from the union of fructose together with glucose. On the market, it is found both in the form of white granulated sugar and in raw form. At an Italian level, sugar production is mainly concentrated in the North and, in particular, in the lower Po Valley.
